Has anyone had any experience with Hynobius Salamanders? I'm thinking from everything I've been able to find on them, they would make a great outdoor project.

Out of interest, who here keeps herps outside? Its something I've started getting more into now, ever since I moved my Eyed Lizards outside 2 years back. I think it's a area of herp keeping that's completely overlooked. If the aim is to provide herps in the most naturalistic way possible, then what is more natural than outside? As long as you research and plan properly, I don't see why outdoor keeping shouldn't become a bigger area of the hobby. I've noticed my Eyed Lizards have developed colours, that keepers could only dream of inside. Personally I think if you choose the right species for your area, it's something to try at least once.
