my gargoyle gecko pumpkin isnt doing so well after surgery. this is when i first got her and she was so tiny back then. I feel i'm probably going to lose her.
Her incision ending up becoming nercotic and the vet refused to listen, said its a "scab" and mold is impossible. fast forward 2 weeks later the last injection antibiotic was done, a few days after that the infection massively spread.
Vet finally gave more medications but said leave the incision and wound alone no removing the rotting flesh etc.
Her vent started becoming swollen so i took her into another exotic vet for a second opinion. Drop off appointment only. No less than 5 minutes later i get a call they tore her skin completely because they were cleaning her incision. It was completely far away from the incision.... how the heck.... So she was rushed into emergency surgery. Come back and they took off all the infected dead flesh too and just stitched it all together.
I feel lost. This poor thing. I've done my best to create a sterile environment and prevent infections. This couldve all been prevented.
