I've been handling her every week to 10 days and no more musking. That seems to be a comfortable interval for her. Yesterday I took her out and she was calm and curious - much more so than in the past. She will actually rest on my lap or on my arm now. Before she looked totally repulsed by the idea of voluntarily touching me 😂
Welp, shed test says she's a girl Lol She is still pretty cranky about being held, but we're still doin it! This week she actually rested her head on my leg. (Yes in my PJs! Don't hate!) This is also the first time she didn't musk, which was great bc I forgot to put on gloves 😂
He goes from wild feral snake mode to not moving a muscle aside from his tongue in about 5 min of handling. Which is not too bad considering he wanted to chew my arm off when he came home 6 weeks ago. We *will* be friends one day.
Meet Moonman, my beautiful mandarin ratsnake I raised up from smaller than a number two pencil up to now, over five feet long, and he is the sweetest snake I've ever known. He eats two full grown live mice once a week, I believe he is a Sichuan locality snake. Somewhere I have pictures of him from when I got him when he was still tiny....
