Can anyone tell me temperment wise, how differant a smooth front caiman is from a Specticaled caiman is? I used to have a spec back in 1996. just found a Smooth front that is local and wanting more info on them. Thanks.

Smooth fronts are generally more aggressive but they can get to the point where you can habdle them if you get them small. I worked with 2 smooth fronts that were pretty calm and even tempered with handling.

well won't be getting an American Alligator, just got a reply from NC WRC. not what I wanted to hear. "Possession of an American alligator (temporary or permanent, regardless of the source location) requires an Endangered Species permit from our agency, and we only issue them to bona fide educational facilities, and only after their enclosures have passed inspections to verify that they meet the minimum standards set in regulation. "

I’ve had both and both are spunky . Specs are hard to find now a days as well
