FACT OF THE DAY!
KYLE LOWDER
EARLESS MONITOR LIZARD? THEY CAN HEAR WITHOUT EARS? THE OMLY MEMEBR OF THE FAMILY LANTHANOTIDAE?
1.)The earless monitor lizard (Lanthanotus borneensis) is a semiaquatic, brown lizard native to Borneo, 2.)Despite their name, earless monitor lizards can hear, though they lack an ear opening and other externally visible signs of ears….
3.)Due to them being semi aquatic and are nocturnal they eat mainly earthworms, tadpoles, fish, and crustaceans….
4.) THREATS?? They are threatened by humans who trap them for the pet trade and hunt them for their skin. Habitat loss is also a serious threat, as forests in Borneo are being replaced by oil palm plantations…
5.) Last but not least breeding efforts should be considered and they have be successful in captivity and they are Oviparous which means they have live births which is very cool in my opinion for reptiles!
Have a good day the and stay positive and hopefull that we now have a president in the USA! 🇺🇸 get 1%percent better everyday to be 365% better a year!
