Hey guys! I picked up this little Emerald Swift today. Unfortunately he is wild caught but he is in good health. These little fellas have a relatively short life span depending upon the quality of care. I am a bit surprised that there are not many of these guys that are captive bred. I think they're kinda cool. Supposedly they are fairly easy to breed so I have a female ordered. They are live bearers so I don't have to worry about incubating eggs. I think the pet store I got them from will buy the babies. I am kinda excited about this little project! He's a big hard to see. I should have taken a pic of him before I put him in his enclosure but I was too worried about getting him in there safely. He was very chilled out though.

They’re a weird mix of skittish and bold, they’ll eat out of your hand, but run if a finger twitches. The males, being siblings, got along perfectly fine until they hit maturity, now they live on their own. They also love staying on vertical surfaces, just like the picture you posted.
I would say keep a close watch on his health, since he is wild. I’ve picked up two females that were wild caught, and both were gone within a week.
